Dr. Rebecca Adler Miserendino is a seasoned public health and environmental scientist with over 15 years of experience in academic research, government service, public policy, and advocacy. As the lead of Lewis-Burke Associate’s environmental and international issue groups, she specializes in strategies that empower universities, scientific societies, and philanthropies to secure federal funding, foster international collaboration, elevate their visibility among key policy stakeholders, and enhance their impact. Dr. Adler Miserendino’s expertise spans a wide range of topics including: program development and evaluation; stakeholder engagement; advocacy; governance; environmental and life sciences; and emerging technologies making her a vital resource for organizations aiming to navigate complex situations.
Before joining Lewis-Burke, Dr. Adler Miserendino served as a Senior Adviser, Foreign Affairs Officer, and Physical Scientist at the U.S. Department of State, where she played a crucial role in negotiating U.S. positions on global environmental and climate issues. In these roles, she served as and/or advised the U.S. member on numerous governance boards and technical policy committees. Dr. Adler Miserendino also managed a portfolio exceeding $1 billion in multilateral and bilateral investments focused on clean energy and climate resilience.
